A Few Questions People Often Ask
Starting something new can bring up a lot of questions. Many of the people who train here had the same ones before they began. Below are a few things people often wonder about before reaching out.
What makes Movement Collective different from a typical gym?
Many gyms are designed around intensity, speed, or pushing through workouts. Movement Collective was created with a different goal. Our focus is helping people rebuild strength in a way that feels intentional, supported, and sustainable.
That means:
- Coaching that pays attention to how your body moves
- A pace that prioritizes learning over rushing
- Small training environments where you’re seen and guided
- Strength built with structure so it lasts
Most people who come here aren’t looking for another workout to survive. They’re looking for a place where they can feel capable in their body again. That’s what we’re here to help with.
What is your training philosophy?
We believe strength should be built in a way that supports your life, not fights against it. That means starting by understanding how your body moves today, then building strength step by step from there. For many people, that means slowing down at first, paying attention to structure, and building a foundation that allows progress to feel sustainable. Our goal is to help you feel more capable in your body over time.
What types of training do you offer?
- Private 1‑on‑1 coaching (by appointment only)
- Small group strength training
- Movement‑based and yoga classes
All services are coached and structured. There is no open gym access.
How can I learn more or get started?
Visit the Start Here page to reach out directly to our team. The first step isn't a commitment, it's just a conversation. We'll take time to learn more about you and your goals then build a plan together.
How is private training structured?
Private training sessions are typically 55 minutes and follow a personalized plan based on your goals, training history, and movement assessment.
Most clients train between 1-3 sessions per week, depending on their needs and availability. 30 minute sessions are also available.
How are classes structured?
Read more about our class offerings on our Group Fitness Classes page. Classes offer the energy and accountability of a group environment with the attention and coaching typically found in private training. Attendance is intentionally capped to ensure individualized coaching, movement correction, and structured programming.
What should I wear or bring to sessions?
Comfortable training clothes and athletic footwear are recommended. Feel free to bring a water bottle (water is also available at the studio). All necessary equipment is provided.
What forms of payment are accepted?
You can pay for services with cash, credit card, check, or venmo.
When can I expect to see results?
Results vary depending on consistency, training history, and goals. Most clients notice improvements in strength, movement quality, and confidence within the first 8-12 weeks, with more significant changes occurring over longer commitments.
Is training appropriate for beginners or people with injuries?
Yes. Many clients begin with limited experience or previous injuries. Training is scaled appropriately, and movement quality is prioritized to ensure safety and long‑term progress. What matters most is a willingness to train consistently and follow a structured process.
Do you provide nutrition advice?
As part of your personal training sessions, we will help you tune into your body and understand how different foods impact how you feel. While we can provide general nutrition guidelines and advice to complement your training, we are not licensed to provide specific meal plans that treat physical or mental illnesses.
Are you hiring personal trainers?
Yes! We are always looking for new personal trainers to join our team. We would love to talk to you if you have experience and are looking to strike out on your own. But also, we are open to providing apprenticeship opportunities for those who are studying for their certification and/or relevant bachelor's degree. If you have a positive attitude and are willing to put in the work to continually refine your skills, you will have plenty of opportunities at Movement Collective!
